*Original clinical data for Mentor Alpha I®. The Coloplast Titan OTR is the former Alpha I, enhanced with the addition of an encompassing, absorptive, hydrophilic coating.5
**Girth was not a specific measurement of the Brinkman study; however, increased girth provides increased rigidity. Opportunity for enhanced girth is an inherent feature of the Alpha I/Titan. Data on file.

The Brinkman paper “A Survey of Patients with Inflatable Penile Prosthesis for Satisfaction” (Journal of Urology, July 2005) utilized a patient population from a single center from January 1992 to December 1998. There were significantly more patients implanted with the Mentor Alpha I‑- penile prosthesis than the American Medical Systems 700 CX. The variance in subgroups, however, should not discount the findings of this paper. The findings of this survey are similar to the conclusions of many similar surveys that have been produced. This was not a prospective randomized trial, but rather a retrospective review of common, standardized implant candidates that would be consistent with any prosthetic urology practice. – Gerard D. Henry, February 2008
